Update: Recruiting Challenge |
updated: 2.1.10 |
|
RED OAK, IA
We're one month into the recruiting challenge with one month
left to go so I thought I'd take a few minutes to update
everyone on the current standings. As of 1 Feb 2010 I
have had 5 new member applications turned in
to me with promises for an additional 5 more!
That's 10 in one month! Just think, if
we got 10 new member applications in one month, how many
more can we turn in by the end of the challenge?
Here's the breakdown. . .
Maj Murphy (new
recruits - Ali R., Sierra R., Payton K. & Baker C.)
Lt Erickson (new recruits - Terry K.)
Keep the
momentum going guys and gals and don't forget the stakes!
A challenge coin is up for grabs to the cadet who turns in
the most new member applications to me (2Lt Brace) by 1
March 2010. Also up for grabs are recruiting ribbons.
Seniors need 7 new members and cadets need 2 to qualify.
Clasps are awarded for increments above the baseline
standard so let's all add some bling to those ribbons!
And last but certainly not least, the pizza party!
Only 5 more applications are needed before Lt Erickson and I
will throw the detachment a pizza party celebrating our hard
work.

CLINTON, IA
The final
SAREX of the fiscal year was held at the Clinton, Iowa
airport on Saturday September 12, 2009. CAP members
from all around Iowa gathered to participate in exercises
which will ultimately help them to achieve their Emergency
Services qualifications so that they can respond if a plane
goes down or a person goes missing.
From the flight
line to ground teams and air crews to mission staff, members
performed tasks to help locate missing persons, ELTs and
support both command staff and mission crew in a variety of
ways. Two of the Red Oak members were staffed on the
flight line for the day, working under flight line
supervisor Cindi Wachholz of Algona, Iowa. "C/SrA
Logan Taylor did an outstanding job marshalling the
aircraft, being attentive to instruction, maintaining proper
courtesies and most importantly keeping safety -front and
center on the flight line," commented Lt. Wachholz of Cadet
Senior Airman Taylor. 2Lt Jason Erickson
also worked on the flight line during the SAREX, progressing
closer and closer to attaining status as flight line
supervisor.
Cadet Staff
Sergeant (C/SSgt) Kaleb
